Grow Up
We grow spiritually by the word of God and the work of the Holy Spirit. I call it the flow of grace. We need to receive fresh grace just as the Israelites gathered fresh manna daily. The prayer, “Give us this day our daily bread,” is not physical bread but spiritual as well. “Man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). The early church stayed in the flow of grace: “Day after day in the temple courts and from every house they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ” (Acts 5:42). The apostles said: “We will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word” (Acts 6:4). Going to church faithfully, staying in Christian fellowship and maintaining a personal devotional life enables us to grow in grace and knowledge.
Grow Together
We grow in community through our relationships in the church. The church means the called-out ones and basically means a sacred gathering. We gather so we can grow! We need to form meaningful and lasting friendships in Christ. When need fellowship and friendship. Jesus said, “I no longer call you servants…I call you friends” (John 15:15). The word fellowship means partnership in ministry and sharing life together. “Our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ” (1 John 1:3). Just as we go to school to learn, we go to church to learn. Jesus said, “Learn of me” (Matthew 11:19). When we learn, we can live for Christ and lead others to Christ. Growing comes from gathering as we see in the Book of Hebrews. “Let us…go on to maturity” is the result of, “Let us give up meeting together, as some are the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the day approaching” (Hebrews 6:1; 10:25).
Grow Out
We grow when we give back! Every Christian needs to be active in Christian service. Church commitment comes from making an investment in the ministry of the church. The church becomes our spiritual home when we make an investment of ourselves and our resources of time, treasure and talent. We discover our purpose in Christ, in his church and in sharing the work of Christ in the world. Spiritual deterioration happens when we don’t grow. Paul challenges us: “Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me… All of us who are mature should take such a view of things…Only let us live up to what we have already attained” (Philippians 3:12, 15-16).

Mount Paran Member
I visited this Church last year for the first time while in search of more of God. This has become my Church home and each time I go, I receive more and more of him. It's an amazing atmosphere to truly Worship and hear from God. Our church family is creatively coloured by the various ethnicities, but together we are one. You feel the loved and welcome everytime you visit Mount Paran…
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is God’s sole inspired, inerrant, and authoritative revelation of Himself and His will given to us (2 Tim. 3:16-17).
God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7; Matt. 28:19).
New Birth
We believe the new birth is the only way to eternal life. When we are born again, our sins are forgiven, we are delivered from sin and judgment, and have eternal life. A person experiences the new birth through faith in Christ and repentance from sin (Luke 24:46-48; John 1:12; 3:3-8; Acts 2:38-39; Eph. 2:8-9).
Healing
We believe in divine healing provided through Christ’s atonement (1 Peter 2:24). God promises healing (Exo. 15:26). Prayer is the pathway to healing through the anointing with oil and laying hands on the sick in the name of Jesus (James 5:13-15). Healing means being made whole in every area of life (1 Thess. 5:23).
Holy Spirit
We believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit, who resides within us (1 Corinthians 6:19) and endows us with power for both life and ministry (Acts 1:8). We acknowledge the Holy Spirit baptism as a source of empowerment, which we receive through faith when we seek it (Luke 11:13) and embrace all spiritual gifts (Acts 2:1-4; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11). Through the Holy Spirit, we are transformed to reflect the likeness of Jesus, strengthened in prayer, and guided spiritually (2 Corinthians 3:18; Romans 8:14, 26-27).
Growth
We believe we are to grow in grace and knowledge of Christ. Spiritual growth is also called sanctification (holiness) and spiritual formation in the image of Christ (2 Peter 3:18; Gal. 4:15; 1 Thess. 4:3). The greatest evidence of spiritual maturity is love (John 13:34-35).
Eternal Life
We believe in Jesus’ promise of eternal life in heaven (John 3:16, 4:1-3). Heaven is a real place and a sure promise (2 Cor. 5:1). We face the final judgment with peace and confidence because we will stand before God in the righteousness of Christ (2 Cor. 5:21; Rom. 5:9; 1 Thess. 5:9; 1 John 4:17). We believe in eternal judgment for the ungodly who reject the saving grace of God (Heb. 9:27; Daniel 12:2; John 5:28-29; Rev. 20:4-6; 11-15).
Sacraments
We believe in the sacraments of Holy Communion, the Lord’s Supper (Matt. 26:26-30; 1 Cor. 11:23-26) and water baptism as a confession of faith in Christ (Matt. 28:19; 1 Peter 3:20-22). (This overview is provided for teaching not an official creed as found in the Church of God, Statement of Faith).
